Brand systems

Templates, libraries, and consistent chaptering

Templates fail when they are too clever. The best systems feel boring: predictable structure, obvious naming, and guardrails that make mediocre edits still look on-brand.

Design components, not “one mega project”

Split intros, lower-thirds, chapter cards, and outros into reusable pieces. Mega templates become fragile—one accidental ripple edit breaks everything. Small components survive real-world collaboration.

Naming that survives turnover

Use prefixes: BRD_INTRO_v03, BRD_LOWER_BUG. Include version numbers when stakeholders review legal text. Document the meaning of tokens in a short README your team stores next to the library folder.

Chaptering for humans and search

Chapter titles should describe outcomes (“Export a crisp MP4”) rather than interface tour (“Click File”). When you publish to platforms that surface chapters, this discipline improves click-through on long videos.

QA checklist before release

Where licensed asset libraries fit

Licensed libraries accelerate baseline polish. Still, curate: fewer high-quality motions beat a warehouse of mismatched styles. Pair assets with your typography rules so titles do not fight the template.

Operationalize capture with recording workflow and validate delivery using export triage.
